A Peek into My Life

Welcome to my blog #FirstShePrays. A place where you’ll find truth and grace in this upside-down fractured world.

I’m a California girl turned Texan. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss the ocean and mountains that were beautifully situated in my backyard. But there is something special about Texas. And although you won’t find me riding a bull anytime soon, I have fallen hard for the Lonestar state and made this place my home.

I am a preacher’s wife. No, that is not my identity but rather an unmerited favor of God to sit alongside my husband for this wonderfully wild ride called ministry.

We are a team, the preacher and me. We live, we love, we fail, we succeed. And through it all, our foundation is unshakable.

I’m a boy mom.

I’m a boy breeder. Yep, 3 sons. I’ve loved every minute of raising my boys. We got dirty together. We played together. We grew together. Best part of life has been being these fellows’ mama. And the family continues to grow because I now have two beautiful daughters. For some unknown reason, God decided to bless me. This unworthy and undeserving woman who He calls daughter.

Balancing Life and Words: Writer, Mom & Seeker

I am a writer. I try to write the right. Why? Because people often get it wrong. The Word of God and the truth of our Savior, that is. Not sure how good of a writer I am, but this is my platform where I bring Jesus to the forefront.

I’m a runner girl just running my race. This long and winding road has seen many miles. But my race is far from over, so I keep my eyes on the prize set before me and press on.

I’m a dog lover, cookie snob, diet-coke consumer, gum chewin, Bible totin, girl with a crown.

But mostly, I’m a slave to Jesus. He’s the buckler and shield of my heart. I believe in the power of prayer, and it’s my weapon for battle. I’m on the narrow road for the long haul just waiting for that trumpet to blast.

I am glad you’re here.

“The old is gone… behold, I am doing something new. And through it all, my eyes are on Him… and it is well with me.”
